What Members Thought
Why is the protagonist always a sniveling, self obsessed, weakling in the second book of a series? Is this true for male protagonists, or just female. I was really disappointed in and superbly annoyed by Tris' character is this book. I didn't really see the twist at the end coming though, so that's saying something.

I mostly enjoy the series. It's young adult, but I often find myself getting rather annoyed at Tris and some of the teenage drama that occurs. But I really like the story and I can't wait for the next book.

Better than the first one, but still a lot of forced dialog and over-long exposition.
More entertainment. More guilt. More pleasure.
I liked this book! It was a quick read, but intriguing. It has that '2nd book in a trilogy' thing going, where it seems like a means to an end--all build up, but I still really enjoyed it. Great characters, great plot movement, exciting and engaging.
