I chose this one from a list of “100 books to read before you die” because of my respect for the author. I read it on audio because that was the only format my library had available.
The premise of this science fiction classic: an emissary seeks to invite the people of a remote planet to join a group of confederated worlds (which I labeled in my head the United Federation of Planets, after Star Trek).
