I'm not sure how to review this even...it's definitely a book where I can look at it abstractly and believe it must have been groundbreaking to read in 1969, or even like, ten years ago. As it is, reading it for the first time in 2018 was a little like "yeah, sure, gender roles are arbitrary, duh" and it was hard to keep the right mindset. Read it twice. More like 4.5 the second time, but rounding up. Elegant, stately prose surrounding intellectually rigorous explorations of other-ness.
