I wish I had read this before Mexican Gothic! I think I would have enjoyed it way more. So creepy and the vintage gaslighting...! Gilman exposes it all.

Read at the insistence of Shoshi Lavinghouse. I found it a bit hard to read because the woman's circumstances made me so angry that it was hard to continue, but I'm very glad I read it.
I have actually met women (young women! in this century!) who say they are not feminists. They should read this story and then get back to me. ...more
