I definitely enjoyed this new one from Rowell, who is swiftly making her way to the top of my Must Be Read pile. The characters were fun and different, which is one of the things that Rowell does best in my opinion. The relationships felt real and it focused as much on families as romance, which I always find interesting. That said, it was an example of a YA book that made me feel a little bit old. I don't even read fanfic about things that a) are real and b) I like, so I really couldn't bring myself to read fanfic about a fictional-fictional boy wizard. I ended up skipping most of the excerpts, which is probably the reason why I didn't love this as much as the rest of the world seems to.

Overall I found this to be sweet and enjoyable. There were moments of greatness in this book, though I didn't find it to be as consistently excellent as her other book published in 2013.
