I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have been meaning to read Penny Reid for a long time, two years at least. But I kept putting it off. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!
Not even 2% into this book I knew I was going to love it. And I really did.
I had a busy weekend, so I wasn't able to read much, but I picked it up every second I could. Usually late at night. I didn't get much sleep. I have also learned if I'm really tired while laug ...more

OK, I think I should start off with a disclaimer that I am ABSOLUTELY a Penny fan. I haven't read a book written by her that I haven't loved.
Now that I feel I've sufficiently warned you of my bias, it should be no surprise that I loved this gem just as much as the other books. If you've read the Knitting in the City books (or just Beauty and the Mustache) then the Winston brothers should not be strangers to you. They are the lovely, bearded, loyal, and odd brothers I always wanted growing up. Ro ...more

Truth: The husband loves Penny Reid's books. Dare: Husband challenged me to read one of her books. Truth or Beard was my choice. Challenge accepted: OMG!!!!! How could I have been so stupid. For me, this is the whole package: you've got romance, humor, an overprotective brother, bikers, family drama, skinny dipping, 'famous' sausage, blackmail, and even a lesson or two in grammar. I sucked this book down like a cold glass of sweet iced tea on a hot July afternoon. Just thinking about all those beards and brothers and banjos (... and even a Brony?) gives me zings in my things. Penny Reid is a lot of things ... but the first thing i think of when i hear her name is that she is a word genius. The words, the sentences, the paragraphs, the books she writes just flow so seamlessly and they are like a black hole because they suck you in and when you come out the other side your never the same again.
Simply put ... I love Penny Reid and everything her genius brain writes ... she rocks my socks!!!
