I've been a huge fan of this series since the first book and this was a sweet and sexy visit with all the characters I've come to love! But the best part of this? Fiona and Greg! I've always liked Fiona, she was always a bit of a closet bad-ass, but I never knew anything past her friendship within the knitting group. Yes, she's supportive and awesome, but here? I got to see a whole other side to her. And Greg. I don't know anything about the guy, minus being a husband to Fiona, but here ...more

Ahh bliss. I wish I could write like this. What a bloody great read.
Scenes from the City is a handful of short scenes featuring the characters from the ingeniously titled 'Knitting in the City' series. Gloriously nerdy, a bit awkward, surprisingly erotic but always snort with laughter funny, I love these characters and their unusual romances so much. There's really no point in reading this unless you've read the rest of the Knitting in the City series and anyway, you would miss so much.

I'm a bit ill. Haven't slept much, spent the day away from home and when I decided to check my e-mail that night, I discovered that I had received an ARC of this book. My reaction?
Something along the lines of this:

Illnesses be damned, I'm going to read this book now!
And I did read Janie's and Elizabeth's story with their significant others before sleep. And boy did I love these stories, but for some mystical reason the human body demands more than 4 hours of sleep in 24 hours. Especially when on ...more

Looooooooooveeeeddddd it! Each mini-story reminded me of why I loved each character (and Penny's writing) to begin with. It was good to get an update on all our favorite couples, and be introduced to another (soon to be favorite, I'm predicting). I laughed, I teared up (a little!), and laughed some more. There were also a fair amount of swoon-worthy moments. I'm pretty sure my small heart actually grew a size reading it. ;) Which, you know, is a good thing.

I received an ARC for an honest review..
I love these characters, I have loved them and I will forever love them! (yeah, stole that from Drew, it buttered my biscuits. But not the same way he was buttering Ash's...oh never mind.)
My favorite thing about this book, aside from FIONA AND GREG, is seeing the KitC women side by side. I loved seeing more of the details of their stories and how different they are. You can read this if you haven't read the others, but you won't enjoy it as much..or even u ...more

Are you a fan of this series like me? Then this novella is a must-read. I have fallen in love with each of these characters during this series, so the opportunity to read more about them was a no-brainer. Not only do we get more of Janie/Quinn, Elizabeth/Nico, Sandra/Alex, and Ashley/Drew. But we also get the awesome backstory of how Fiona and Greg met. And in true Penny Reid style, we get all the quirky and awkward and intelligence and humor we've come to expect, and then some.

This was completely adorbs, as all things Penny tend to be. I was happy to get little snippets of all the characters from the Knitting series but I CAN'T FREAKIN' WAIT(!!) for Greg and Fiona now.

Penny, Penny, Penny... I'm very unsure how much more swooning I can take!!!!
I absolutely love how each story faithfully carries the voice of each one of the ladies...
For Ashley & Drew, the couple that's the dearest to my heart: Mrs. Reid, you did not let me down, and for that I thank you. Drew is as intense, heart chattering, and immense as ever.
I'm delecting these stories by tiny pieces!

So there is not so much of a synopsis but that doesn’t mean that it was anything less than what I was expecting. Again, Penny Reid blew me away with her amazing mind, writing, and characters. Each small snippet lets you inside each couple’s world to view their love and admiration for each other.
The first four short stories are about characters we already know and love. The fifth story is a little introduction about Fiona and Greg, which I found myself madly in love with already. I don’t know if ...more

This solves my need for a Q/J, D/A fix, but now I'm stuck on torturous and downright unprepared pins and needles for Fionna and Greg. Damn but this author is illegally good.
