A flawed, but interesting read, mainly for the lovely Mediterranean landscapes and how the other half lived in the gay 1920s. I'm glad I read the intro - knowing about Fitzgerald's problems with alcohol and Zelda's mental instability provided a sad, but true insight into what led him to write this story. There were too many threads left hanging on plot devices, especially about the Abe North/murder tale, which left me SMH. And what ever happened to Nicole's father?
