From the first sentence the reader is aware that Don Tilman is a different kind of guy. He is structured, smart, intellectual, and rigid. He likes rigid. He does not bend the rules...his rules, if he can possibly help it. This keeps him comfortable, but it keeps him on the edge of being fired, keeps him from developing a relationship, and pushes him to develop The Wife Project. This was a wonderful funny journey read in a day.
There are so many elements that make us who we are.
Empathy is an emotion we should explore and practice more often,
Then perhaps the many misunderstandings and misinterpretations we suffer from these days could be avoided.

There is often little logic involved in emotions and how can we really define love?
There is lots of specialness in this story.
We all suffer from/enjoy our own differences and uniqueness whether it is a defined condition or not.

what a great read! warm, cosy, yet not over-sweetened, I was touched, I was laughing... :D
a great study of an aspie-brain without naming it... a load of info about socially-awkward very intelligent individual, his way to discover whole bunch of emotions he did not know he was capable of! I loved it! :D

I have mixed feelings on this book. The story was adorable and I love that someone who is on the spectrum was the un-ironic star of the novel. I do fear that a few times I was unhappy with the way Simsion presented Don. He pushed his character a bit too much at times.

I will be reading the next novel.
