Cress est le troisième tome de la tétralogie Chroniques Lunaires de Marissa Meyer. Publié aux Editions PKJ, ce joli pavé de 660 pages est vendu à 18,90€. Cette série de science-fiction nous propose une réécriture de conte originale. Découverte par hasard, les deux premiers tomes avaient été un coup de cœur et celui-ci n’en passe pas très loin non plus.

This series just gets better, and BETTER!
Rooting for Cinder and her rag tag group of misfits made up of a wanted criminal, an android, a genetically modified wolf, a Lunar Shell and an aging Lunar doctor, is so, so easy to do! You WANT this group of good guys to win!
And when the evil Queen Levana and her E-VILE minions make their appearances throughout the story? You want nothing more than than for their failure and yes, total and utter destruction.

I had a whole post typed out ready to post and... lost it in transit between home and Uni. And since it's my first week back at Uni after 3 months off, and each of my kids have been sick over the last week, I'm just too tired to try and rewrite it, so here's the condensed version.

Shelves: guilty-pleasure

I didn't like this book quite as much as Scarlet. But, I read a lot of reviews that say the same thing before reading the book which I think swayed my opinion a little. I loved Rapunzel when I was a kid, which is kind of messed up because that story is very dark. I love Meyers take it. With all the reboots of fairy tales going on in movies and tv right now, I was a little concerned as to how this all was going to turn out. I should't have been because she nailed it. Revelations, action, excitement, suspense, romance.
A motley crew of misfits they may be
But they all work so well together.
It never feels overdone, the emotion is realistic, believable.
Naturally we are in the midst of sci-fi fantasy...
A wonderfully imagined world.
