What Members Thought
Both Balram and Ashok are trapped, both are very flawed characters, and both are forced to do to things they don't want to do. The fact that Adiga was able to make both Balram and Ashok sympathetic characters brings a lot of depth to this book.

Reading the reviews for this book was more entertaining & educational than the book itself. I got tired of hearing several phrases repeated by the narrator/driver...I could care less how often he wanted to "dip his beak" and I didn't like the overuse of the term, "sister-f'r" either. The book seemed to take much longer than necessary...especially listening to it on audio.
