Shelves: humor, horror, 2015-reading-challenge

Gimmicky? Yes. But this book was so well done, right down to the Ikea style illustrations that begin each chapter. It was a bit clichéd, but would make an awesome movie.

I wanted to give this five stars just for being so damn clever, but let's not go overboard. The design of Horrorstor, in the case you have not already heard all about this, is very similar to an Ikea catalog. The store in the novel, here called Orsk, is an Ikea knockoff and the characters in the novel are Orsk employees forced to spend the night in order to investigate weird goings on. Creeeeeeeepy. I'm a punk so this freaked me out, though I'm sure if you're a real horror fan you won't be too scared. The IKEA setting is a fun one. I'm never gonna look at that place the same again. ...more
