This book is so much more than just a dystopian novel. It is a study of the choices we make in our lives, a reminder of all the things we take for granted, and a prediction of people's ability to survive and create a new world. The author moves flawlessly back and forth through the years, interweaving each character's lives. A beautifully written novel which brings to our attention the fact that "Survival is insufficient".
