I read about a 1/4 of the book and put it down to read something else for a challenge. Once I picked it up again, I couldn't put it down and read the rest of the book in two sessions. Fascinating how the present and past become intertwined. Things that get touched on early and then expanded upon later in the story make sense then.
All in all you are left with sense of hopefulness in humankind.

Normally I am not a fan of dystopia books but I loved this one. It did leave me wanting more info at the end (what happens to these characters!?!) but that is my own control issue coming out. This book left me thinking about it for awhile after I finished....always a good sign

Super interesting post-apocalyptic novel. I loved the way the timeline bounced around a little. It made it very interesting to read. For the record, after the world ends, I totally call the job of conductor of the traveling symphony. :-)

I really cared about these people. It all snaps together like a puzzle in the end, like a Mitchell novel. I was impressed. Station Eleven i ...more

Week 38 of the 2017 Reading Challenge: A novel inspired by a work of classic literature. According to a list of suggestions for the week, this book was inspired by Fahrenheit 451. I do not see any resemblance between the novels. But this has been on my To Read list for awhile now so I went with it!

I love post apocalyptic novels so was really looking forward to this one. It was good. I think. It wasn't the norm for that genre as there were no roving bands of zombies or Mad Max type gangs. It was
