Man, where do I even start with this book? For the first half, I couldn't stand it. At all. I kept forcing myself to slog through, mainly to get me through my hours of insomnia, and partially so that when people asked me what I think of P&P I could give them an informed opinion. Mostly my opinion of this book can be summed up in one word: boring. I wasn't interested in the characters or the plot (what there was of it). When I started this book, I really did not like it. At all. I had to keep telling myself to push through, saying that there had to be SOME reason friends of mine kept rating it so highly. And somewhere along the way I realized I was hooked into it and had a hard time putting it down. Jane Austen does an amazing job drawing you in and making sure you don't realize it until it's too late. It is quite similar to Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy's relationship.
