Shelves: format-ebook, genre-young-adult, 2018

I liked the characters but I am also glad to have moved on from that sort of angst and drama. I can’t decide if this is a book I would recommend to my older teen (I don’t for my younger one—though she picked out this book for me from the PBS Great American Read list). I think there is a depressive quality about this that leads me to dissuade my older teen from picking up this book at this time though overall I see that there are important questions and resolutions here to some of the tougher asp ...more

I don't read contemporary novels very often and had heard that John Green's The Fault in Our Stars was a good book, upon arriving at the bookstore I looked for all his books and I'm so glad I did! This book was fantastic, had me both laughing and then crying hysterically. John Green certainly has talent and I can't believe it took me so long to find!

I've heard a lot of good thins about this book, and after reading it.. Well, it was good but it also made me sad and probably wanting more? I was honestly hoping that everything was a prank, that she's alive and they'll end up together, but I guess that's the whole point of the book - the "What Ifs". ...more

Read for the Popsugar Reading Challenge-- A book set in a high school

I thought this was a pretty good book-- it certainly dealt with loss and depression and high school angst in a realistic way. I found myself wishing there were less sex and swearing and drinking and smoking, though.
