This series just keeps getting better and better. All the twists and turns made me devour the book in less than three days. In addition to that, all the unanswered question made me wonder who is behind everything and why does she/he do it? This book is action packed and brutal. The Epics are cruel and seem untouchable. Amazing second book! So much more riveting than the first.
Fast paced and pretty enjoyable. For me, the best part of the book was the post-apocalyptic New York City (Babilar) - what a unique and creative imagining! Can I please get a spin-off series about Dawnslight and the citizens of Babilar living in their Year of the Flood-ish postapocalyptic NYC?
Awesome series, great pacing, couldn't put it down.
1 major con for me though was I found myself irritated at the constant comments about girls' bodies...the 1st book started out this way and they only got more frequent with the 2nd book...multiple references to "plunging necklines", "curves in all the right places", nice butts, staring at boobs, wet tshirts, and megan is naked once in the first book (as she is getting medical attention) and once in this book (during a battle) and we are repeate ...more

I enjoyed this one much more than Steelheart. Maybe that's because I just let the immature stuff roll off without bugging me, maybe because the story moved forward a lot more with this one. It felt like we really started to get a handle on this world of anti-heros. Looking forward to the next one.
