I read this book as required reading for a university module in children's literature.
As it is marketed as YA (me being closer to 40) I wasn't expecting to like it in the least. But, I didn't just like it, I loved it.
The first few chapters were quite slow and had it not being required reading I may have given up on it, but I'm so glad I didn't. It quickly transformed into a face paced page turner, and now I'm going to have to read the rest of the books in the series.

I tried to read this book. Based on the synopsis of the book, it seemed right up my alley. It is a cross between dystopian and a classic fairy tale.
I told my husband I couldn't decided if I liked the book or not. Just when I thought I didn't like it there was a change in the plot that would make me think the book was ok. My husband reminded me that life is too short to read books you don't like. I made it thru about 1/4 of the book. I then skipped ahead to about the last 1/4 and tried to read an ...more

I really really like this book. It's an incredibly easy and fast read, yet a lot happens so it's entertaining as well. I figured out the big secret pretty early on into the book; but I'm not holding that against the author or the book at all since I'm a 27 year old reading a YA book. I've read some reviews where people are upset or think it doesn't make any sense that cyborgs encounter such a stigma in Cinder's world, but I think it's very relevant to the current societal standards of ours. Week 13: Reader's choice
This was an audio book read. I chose this book because it seemed like everyone was or already had read this series. So this had been on my radar for a while, but I was hesitant. A futuristic Cinderella story with cyborgs, not really what would normally grab my attention, even though I love retellings. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this one, and I'm curious to see where the rest of this series takes us. ...more

I really enjoyed this book. I'm a sucker for Cinderella stories and this was very interesting. I was not expecting a cliffhanger though. I will definitely read the rest of the series.
I read this for the 2015 Popsugar Reading Challenge.
