Wow! Talk about a thrill ride! If you're looking for a book that you cannot put down, The Maze Runner is what you need. You will start reading The Maze Runner and forget to eat, bath, or feed your cats. You will not be able to put the book down until the very last page. I cannot stress this enough. I know because it took all of my self-control to take breaks from reading. Full disclosure: I saw the movie first. Afterwards, I immediately wanted to go and read the books, is that's any consolation.

However, I think that if I hadn't seen the movie first and hadn't known what the general plot was, I might not have been able to finish this book. I normally always finish books (or at least, set a book aside for a long while the complete intention of picking it back up again someday) but the first half (and some more) of this book were so boring. So the plot in the book was great but it had major flaws: it started off so slow, no character development and the unnecessary language used (ex: shuck) was just annoying. I am still deciding whether or not to read the next part.
