my favourite book of all time. The story of Anne Elliot is one that you will never forget. Jane Austen finest bit of writing.

My birthday treat to myself today was to read persuasion this morning. This book always makes me so happy .

A new edition with introduction by lynne Truss. There is even for me a unseen cancelled chapter added from the 2nd edition (1871) of A Memoir of Jane Austen by her nephew J.E Austen Leigh which I read with joy.

“Such a letter was not to be soon recovered from.” I know that’s right

3.5 stars. Not as good as P&P and S&S, but still enjoyable. :)

Great story. It took me a long time to read because I really need to concentrate when I read classics like this. And I am not nearly the hopeless romantic that Jane Austen is. Nevertheless, I can appreciate good writing and a fantastic story when I read it. Plus Austen's humor always amuses me! ...more
