I read this in college, in the 60's when 1984 seemed as far away as the moon; like science fiction. I loved it then and I loved it now. At the time, we discussed whether some of these things would really "happen."
Thankfully, some did not, at least in our country, but some touch the present. George Orwell was very astute and this reads very well today. ...more
