I have a love-hate relationship with this book. I loved the first third of the book. The writing was way better in the beginning for one, and it hooked me. I love that it is dark, and shows a different side of life. I hate it bc there are very few realistic characters- Cathy Jr is ok and Ellen show some depth. The others are either flat, brainless, or just variations of extremes, which isn't realistic. Their darkness & selfishness didn't bother me...Scarlett O'Hara is one of my favorite characte ...more
