3.5 stars? I guess?
I love financial books. I've read plenty of them. But the beginning setup of this book almost stymied me. After slogging through that, the actual mystery was entertaining. I was squicked out by all the violence against women (though I loved Salander's revenge). Lisbeth herself is almost superhero-like, which was annoying, but her inner musings were way more interesting than Mikhal's. I'll read the sequel but I hope it doesn't start so boring. ...more

It is a page turner and a thriller. Great for a long flight. But seemed to have too much going on ... the people were unbelievable to me and once plots were resolved they were dropped. That said, if I was delayed while waiting in an airport, I would be entertained by this book.
While I wouldn't recommend this book to everyone (probably too gruesome/graphic for some) I enjoyed the mystery of it more than I have enjoyed a mystery story in a while. The twists and turns were unpredictable, and the plot was complex, but not convoluted. There were things revealed at the end that made me think "Oh yeah, I should have made that connection earlier!", but the fact that I didn't make the connection is a sign of good mystery writing, in my opinion.

I read this because I felt I should. It wasn't bad, good characters and suspenseful. However the first 10% and last 20% were slow and boring. I'll still read the rest of the series probably.

I had tried twice to read this book and could never get past the first few chapters. Moved on.
