Delightful re-read for a book club ... lots of fun things that are missing from the movie. Every bit as good the second time around!
This was a delightful re-read of the wonderful Illustrated edition, beautifully illustrated by Jim Kay, in preparation for reading my new Christmas book, which is The Prisoner of Azkaban Illustrated. I enjoyed this so much I likely will have to get the Chamber of Secrets illustrated to read next ... can't take them out of order, of course! ...more

Yes, I know, I know, I've read this book three times. Now I'm going to read the series all the way through. Because I can.

Absolutely, hands down, five stars for this book. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is easily one of the best books I've ever read. And I'd like to think I've read a good many fantastic books and will read many more. I was afraid that I'd be bored reading this book, since I've read it so many times and have seen the film a dozen times. But the book still has all the thi ...more
