What Members Thought
I had a hard time deciding what the rating for this book should be. I can see how easily this would have appealed to people when it first came out. There was nothing else like it, the writing is fun and clever, and it matched what 10 year old kids were thinking at that age. However, I read this book 17 years after it came out, I am not 10, and have read countless young adult fantasy fiction novels. If I had read this when it first came out, there is no doubt that I would be giving it 5 stars.
