The reason I always come back to Discworld is because these stories and these characters are like a warm, reassuring hug. I don't identify with the doers, who get into the thick of things and set them right. No, I'm the one on the sidelines, watching them do their thing and taking courage from their words and actions. Being the perfect NPC, oh yes.
