I loved the first one, really enjoyed the second one, and just enjoyed this one! While I loved the chemistry between Sookie and Alcide and also Sookie and Eric (I love the hilarity between these two), I missed the love between Sookie and Bill. There also was a lot less of Sookie working at Merlotte's, and she's now more a hot commodity because of her abilities. I guess I just miss Sookie being more in control of things. It seems like the vampires/weres are more in control of her! I hope the next

I followed up the Twilight series with the Sookie Stackhouse series. A good, soft transition into more paranormal romance. Too much hype for Charlaine Harris's books because of the HBO series than deserved. The HBO series is fine; the books are fine, but the plot/mystery of each book is simple. Very quick read -- straightforward plot with friendly characters that are easy to like. If you enjoy paranormal, you will probably enjoy this series, but there truly are more gripping, non-plain vanilla p

I have been re-listening to this series, and I remember loving the books the first time around. Since then, I have evolved and realized that the writing really isn't the greatest. Sookie is a dingbat and so annoying, but you know what? I love it. I eat it up like trash tv.
