Heartbreaking, Gut-wrenching & Inevitable

These are the three words I can use to sum up this book.

By the end of this book I was left in a state of understanding, heartache and of amazement. Marissa Meyer pulled this off so beautifully, so intricate and carefully plotted. I was amazed by the way in which she made up this familiar yet new world, with many beloved faces and locations. This book has been on my TBR for YEARS and I'm so glad that I've finally read it! All the hype around this book when it first came out and the fact that I loved the Lunar Chronicles series so much made this an intimidating book to pick up. Also, I really didn't like Alice in Wonderland so I wondered how a retelling was going to go.
