What Members Thought

***2.5 stars***
I really disliked this book for the first 150 pages. I think this might be because we were in Simon's perspective. I instantly found him annoying and whiney. He kept on going on and on about Baz trying to kill him. I wouldn't have mind if Simon mentioned this a couple of times, but he mentioned it almost in every single chapter in the first 150 pages. I seriously thought I was going to DNF this book because I just couldn't take it anymore, but I decided to give Baz a chance. If I ...more

To be honest, I was intrigued by Simon and Baz when I read Fangirl a while ago. When I saw that Rowell was going to write a fantasy novel about Simon and Baz, I was excited. I had high expectations, but I’m kind of disappointed by this book. I liked it, but there were a few things that I didn’t enjoyed that much, but there were others that I really liked.

You know when you read a book at just the right time?
This was one of those books for me. But I think, even if it hadn't been the absolute perfect time to read it - I would have loved this book regardless.
Carry On comes from a weird place.
It's like... an alternative ending to a book series that we see fanfiction for in Rainbow Rowell's book Fangirl - but is neither the "actual" book in that series, nor is it the main character's fanfiction.

I can't decide how I feel about this. I really enjoyed some parts and other parts dragged on or were confusing. I still loved Rowell's writing, but I'm glad I just got this from the library instead of buying it.

I really do not know how to rate this book. 3...3.5...4??? I don't know. It started off very slow and I thought I was just not in the mood for it. Nah, it was just slow. The voices of each character merged together so it was hard to tell who was speaking. The romance...there was no blossoming of it. They kissed and suddenly BAM! I feel like if there was a book before this one with more source material, other than Fangirl, the world might have developed more. It read like fanfiction as well...I k
