Although the last 100 or so pages were really good, I didn't like the rest. It wasn't awful or anything but just slow. Vera was a little annoying sometimes but overall she was a good main character. I don't know... I think I wanted more after I read Ask the Passengers (which had been brilliant) and I'm a little disappointed. This is one if those books I’ve had on my shelf for years. Unfortunately it wasn’t my favorite. I’ve read and adored A.S. King’s novel, Ask the Passengers. Unfortunately it seems everything I liked about that book, I dislike about this one.

I love A. S. King. Enjoyable book, just didn't blow me out of the water.

To say that this book has left me feeling sad, would be an underestimation. It was so overwhelmingly beautiful. I really am at a loss for words.
Very quick read. Amazing writing. Interesting characters. Meaningful. I really loved this book, I can't wait to read more of A.S King. :)
