Oh how I love a good second-chance romance! Add in some laugh out loud moments and allow the hero to tell the story and I'm sold. I wasn't surprised by the humor as other readers have alluded to that, but I was surprised by the depth of emotional turmoil portrayed in this book. This story really tugged on my heartstrings. Professional baseball player Gavin Scott is desperate. After an argument left them not talking to each other for a month, his wife told him she wants a divorce. He's staying with a friend when he is approached by some of his team members about joining their secret book club. They read romance novels in order to understand what women want. Gavin is very leery about this approach to his relationship with Thea; but will try anything to get his wife and daughters back in his life.

This is a wonderful contemporary romance. Told mostly from the male point of view, it is warm and funny and just a great story. The audio version was fabulous and the narrator was great with his different voices for the different characters. I am not a fan of contemporary romance, but this one was a joy to listen to. It was highly praised by a Goodreads Friend and I'm glad I took her advice.

I loved this book. It was a great example that marriage is hard work and requires work to maintain strong marriage. I loved that the guys used romance books to solve problems in their relationships. It was a cute story.
