Quick summary
Alexa Holland, photographer’s assistant, has a meltdown on a shoot when she discovers the subject for the day is none other than Caine Carraway, investment management wonderboy and the man her family almost destroyed years ago. When he discovers who she is, he strikes back and tough.

The secrets
There are quite a lot of them in this story, which only made it more interesting as they unfolded gradually, adding layers to the characters and providing intrigue.

Addicting reading, chemistry and oh, the conflict! Samantha Young has done it, again with Hero, the story of a secrets, lies, over-the-top egos, and that final moment of realization, did I mention the passionate heat?

A solid 4 star read from Samantha Young. Nothing earth shattering, but good writing, likable characters and a bit of a twist on the ordinary. My only complaint was that the "big secret" seemed not-so-big to me, at least not big enough to motivate the reactions it did. Sexy scenes were nicely done, and pretty damn steamy!

This is a story about Alexa Holland when she comes face to face with a man, wronged in the past by her family - Caine Carraway. Sparks instantly fly between them, but when Alexa tells Caine her last name Caine wants nothing to do with her, and is the reason for Alexa getting fired. During the first 25% of this book, I thought that Samantha Young's writing was very similar to Judith McNaught, only with a younger, hipper voice. She totally lost me at midpoint. Action picked up again at about 75% through. At over 400 pages, this romance is a too long. The angst level is rising steadily throughout and the characters are beginning to wear a little thin for me.
