Helen Ravenel was intrigued with Rhys Winterborne almost from the moment she met him, bonding when she helped nurse him back to health from a devastating train accident that also involved her cousin, Devon. He was just as taken with her, him from humble origins and a man of self made wealth. Rhys asked her to marry him and she accepted, only to have it later fall apart because of a misunderstanding. Now Helen is taking control of the situation and boldly reaching out to Rhys to restore their eng

I love it when a character I had vastly underestimated turns out to be very different. I had pegged Helen Ravenel, the heroine, as a rather meek and mild woman who just wanted a family of her own and Rhys Winterborne would do very nicely and her husband. Helen showed she has steel for her backbone and was determined to do the right thing even if it cost her the man she loves.

“Heart of my heart, you need no man to give you away. Just come to me of your own free will. Love me for who I am... just as I love you for who you are... and our bond will last until the stars lose their shining.”
Como no adorar a Rhys Winterborne!!!!!! Me enamoré de Rhys desde el libro anterior y estaba ansiosa por conocer su historia.

5+ stars. Damn this woman can write!! The prose are spectacular - the historical detail, the surprising turn-of-phrase, and both the overt and subtle humor. Every character is drawn in full color, and I love them all!! I need a HEA for West, Dr Gibson, Cassandra and Severin. Can't wait for the next book featuring Pandora and Gabriel (a reread of Devil in Winter is in order!!). Loved this story from beginning to end.

It appears that I’m in a historical reading phase right now. I can’t get enough historical romances and mysteries.
Marrying Winterborne
is in the historical romance genre. It is the second book in The Ravenel series by Lisa Kleypas. What great characters. It is no wonder that I had to begin this book as soon as I finished the previous book. I didn’t know how Helen was going to fix the breakup with Rhys Winterborne. There is no doubt that Kathleen had Helen’s best interest at heart, but she d

Originally reviewed atMy Devastating Reads. I've just finished up a delicious novel by Lisa Kleypas. This author rarely disappoints. And even then, it's always my fault. I adore her writing and storytelling ability. Marrying Winterborne is the second novel in The Ravenels series, one that I was really looking forward to and I loved it from beginning to end.

Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas (Audio Edition)
Narrated by Mary Jane Wells
The Ravenels #2
4.5 Stars - I Loved Rhys Winterborne. He was a great leading man. Strong and gruff yet caring and sweet all at the same time. There was quite a few sigh-worthy statements from his lips. I enjoyed watching Helen come out of her shell. She was a kindhearted person with just enough grit to make Rhys smile and try just a bit harder for her. I could feel their chemistry and loved listening to them interact. ...more
