I have no words to explain how amazing this book is. (THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)
Aelin is my baby! I love her so much. She has grown so much from book one. I absolutely love Aelin and Rowan so freaking much. Definitely one of my all time favorite ships.
I also absolutely adored Manon's story line in this installment. She is so terrifying and so wonderful at the same time, I don't know how she does it (lol). The whole Thirteen squad was amazeballs as well.

I wish I could give this book 50 STARS instead of just 5. It needs and deserves more then 5 stars. AWESOME BOOK!!!
Dec. 31st and I just finished reading Empire of Storms for the 2nd time. I feel like it was my first reading it because there was so much in this book I didn't remember from when I read it in 2018/2019. Of course I, LOVED IT so so SOOOOOOO much. Maybe even more this time than the first time I read it. I can't way it too move right onto Tower of Dawn. That will be my first time readi ...more

As I was reading this one, I realized that I was enjoying the POVs that weren’t Aelin’s or Rowan’s more. I was never bored in this book (there’s way too much happening for that) but I felt their story was more predictable, therefore less interesting. But by the end though, I was fully invested in both of them again. Only to find out that the next book is not about them. That is okay. I trust this author now and am sure the next one will be good too.

Empire of Storms
4.5
Note: Although marketed for young adults, the series in general, and this book in particular contain mature themes including violence and sex. Be forewarned...
Fast paced and action packed as always, Empire of Storms never lets up and keeps the reader guessing even after the story is over. Amidst secrets and betrayals, Aelin begins forging new alliances as the dual threats of Erawen and Maeve advance.

Aelin Galathynius and her court head north to reclaim her throne, but it doesn't go as planned. It seems she is not wanted there. From there she heads south to look for the Lock to the Wyrdkeys. There is so much going on in this book that I don't know where to start. Sarah J. Maas knows how to weave a story. Aelin is a very clever person and the reader is as shocked as the characters in the book when Aelin's plans unfold. Only she know what is needed for the Lock to work and she keeps it to hers

4.5 stars!
I think this is a fabulous high fantasy series. I can't even conceive of being able to craft such a complicated world, and have all the intertwined threads in your head, being able to bring together so many different threads over the course of several books.
I read those 1-star reviews.... I am not sure we are reading the same series at all. Do you people actually read high fantasy? Do you not understand the meaning of patience??
So many of them mention white heterosexual agenda. WTF doe ...more
