Leila and Vlad, recently married, are still grappling with control issues...she wanting to maintain a level of independence and he, well, was Vlad. Unfortunately, his instincts were dead on because it didn't take long for his worst enemy to wreak havoc in their lives.

THE COVER IS SO DAMN PERFECT! *SQUEAL*

This book is so damn perfect! I adore anything to do with the Night Huntress Universe and this book is no exception!

Vlad & Leila= forever

Vlad isn't your everyday Dracula.

Leila and Vlad are newly married. She is also a newly turned vampire, still learning how to use her powers. As they hunt for Vlad's archenemy, Szilagyi, Vlad realizes that Szilagyi will do anything to hurt him including using Leila against him. Vlad buried his heart centuries ago with the death of his wife and child. Now that he has finally given his heart to Leila, he will do anything to protect her.

Not quite 5 stars, but this series has grown on me as I have gone through each book. I really do think it has been helped by listening to it on audio - the narrator has given Leila a life and personality which I hadn't managed to attribute to her when I read the first book. Although, like many series, the author does warm to her characters and her theme as the books go on and they do get better and better. I much prefer Leila as a vampire - she's got sass and guts in a way which wasn't as believ ...more

Loved it! I missed Vlad. And I really miss the Night Huntress World, there were a few appearances in this one, made me miss them even more! I am glad there is another Vlad book, still hoping for another branch out from the author.. Maybe Ian.. or Maximus...
