3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 because I still have happy feelings for the series as a whole!)

If you follow me on Goodreads you'll know I binge read the last five books in this series in less than a week, I've been totally hooked on this series and overall I've really enjoyed it. The trouble with final books in popular series though is that it can be hard for authors to live up to fan's high expectations and I think that was the problem with Summoned to Thirteenth Grave.

Thank you for telling us such entertaining stories and creating such wonderful characters. I’d give anything for a bestie like Cookie, and pals like Charlie’s. It was amazing ride. I could always count on Charlie for over the top hilarity, and outrageous dialog. You made me laugh, you made me cry, you made me want to stab things. So thanks for all the fun.

Initial Thoughts
I am so glad that I finally decided to tackle this series. It has been a whole lot of fun! I was really eager to see how things would wrap up in this final installment and I am happy to report that there were a lot of surprises in store for readers. This installment had all of the excitement and humor that I have come to expect from the series. I really enjoyed Lorelei King's narration and know that her performance added a lot to my overall enjoyment. I do hope to pick up some of ...more

I knew when I'd been licked. Not Reyes-licked, but beaten-licked

The laughs and great quotes are back! After all these years the time has come for a bittersweet goodbye to Charley Davidson. But it's never goodbye to Darynda Jones! I'm sure we'll see more of her in the future.

After putting off the last two books so I could avoid saying goodbye to one of my favorite series, I finally finished Charley Davidson. So many character deaths. I had to keep reminding myself that with Charley's abilities, death isn't the end. She can summon people from Heaven, or snatch them to the side for a talk in Hell. The final book was unexpectedly emotional for me, with some twists I didn't see coming, and I was very sorry to see this silly, quirky, ridiculous, fun series end.
