I finished the series! Wow, it feels amazing to finish this multi-year project.

I am in awe of Proust's writing ability and his epic approach to storytelling. Admittedly, his writing style is dense; however, it signifies the importance of the significant level of detail that he provides over the course of the seven volumes in the series.

In this final book in the series, the narrator reflects on WWII and on the impact of the passing of time on the society figures he used to meet at fashionable soirées. He resolved to write a novel, and muses on the true purpose and nature of literature.

In Search of Lost Time started off strong - Swann's Way was a mind-blowing read. But, for me at least, it got a bit dull in later books. I've got to admit, by the time I got to The Prisoner and The Fugitive I was wondering why I was still plowing through these books.

Stick with it. The magic returns in Finding Time Again. It's beautiful and profound and downright inspiring. Six stars.
