What Members Thought

It required more concentration than I'm used to giving a book--the wit was densely packed into each sentence and took some un-packing to appreciate. I enjoyed making the effort. It struck me as some maniacal blend of David Sedaris and Dostoevsky.

This book features an unreliable narrator who is either an idiot and/or a jerk. It felt a little bit long winded, but made up for it by being very very funny at times. Funny in what way? War breaks out when you are out on a walk, and soldiers separate you from your home. They will not let you return to your family. What are you worried about? Not getting your coffee. You proceed to throw a stink about it (the lack of coffee).

I found this book longwinded, but that's OK, because that was an important part of its essence. The edition I read had an interesting forward.
