I want to give this book more stars. I want to like it more. Unfortunately it was such a tedious read that I just can't bring myself to give it more than 3.5 stars - and I can't round up, either.
While the book in itself was terrifying, I was so weighed down by the "manifesto" feel of it. The chapter where they read "The Book" was the worst. I listened to the audiobook, which was well done. I made the mistake, however, of reviewing the plot before hand. I feel I would have enjoyed it more had I not done that, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything while I was listening.
Overall, I liked it. I understand why it has stood the test of time, and it's language has become part of ours.
I'm not sure I would ever read it again, but I think everyone should read it at least once. ...more
