How have I put off reading this book for so long?! Actually I know how... the story isn't the easiest to follow or the most exciting in the beginning of the book. The story never gets super exciting, but the writing and the characters and the ridiculousness... this book is amazing. It was so funny but had so much to say. The build up for some of the jokes was genius.

Novel length version of Who's On First... This book took me an eternity to finish. It was funny and very smart but I'm a very character driven reader and I didn't even like Yossarian until the last 1/4 of the book. I'm glad I finished but definitely not my cup of tea. ...more

Great classic read that truly parodies the foolishness and insanity of bureaucracy and the people in charge vis a vis the military. A “Catch 22” is something we all deal with almost on a daily basis - a never ending loop of illogical thought processes. Also this book shows the value of life and living amidst certain death - war, in this case. Funny, sad, terrifying and at times annoying, but overall a enjoyable read.
