Honestly, this play wasn’t for me. Whilst I found the blending of illusion and reality following a past trauma interesting, I did not enjoy reading an entire play of two people arguing incessantly. The other two characters and their motives didn’t make sense to me either.

I'm giving it 4 stars because I really want to. It's more like a 3.5 but only because I feel like I still kind of don't 100% get it. It's so good though, and if you have not seen the movie adaptation with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, GO WATCH IT! They are the perfect couple for the main characters. They probably had to barely act. The dialogue and the back and forth of the story is just wonderful though and it kind of makes me want to check out more Edward Albee. ...more

This play is insane!! What a ride, so many great jokes and lines and so freaking entertaining. I laughed out loud, it shocked me and it irked me in many places. This really was a time.

This play is full of sharp, witty dialogue. The character development is great and the whole thing is certainly well-written. But it's... not my style. It was cringey. Martha and George's relationship is the definition of toxic. The verbal assault and constant humiliation was just too much for my taste. It was funny in the beginning, when I thought it was just playful banter. But when it continued after the guests arrive, and never let up, I couldn't wait for the play to end. ...more

This book was not my cup of tea. It's an absurdist drama and I am trying to wrap my head around the themes. I want to know what everything means... it was an interesting play, just not a favourite of mine. ...more
