It took me so long to get through this classic.

The characters: elusive. The plot: interesting, but slow at times. The one chapter is literally describing the rocks that kings had in their collections and I could not care less I'm sorry. The themes: We're exploring art and the aesthetic movement in reaction to moralistic realism. We're peeling sentences apart trying to find the Queer themes. This book took forever to get anywhere near good. And Oscar likes to drone on and on philosophically getting totally off topic so that you don't even remember what the point was or what he was even talking about when it gets back to the topic. There are some good passages and points in the book however, and I do like the ending. ...more
