What Members Thought
This books makes the argument that if one wants to become a writer (or an artist of any sort for that matter), a steady, fixed income (seems Virginia is writing for the upper middle and upper classes) and solitude (in other words a room of one's own away from the daily interruptions of life) are needed.
My favorite quote was, "Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind." ...more

I thought this was an interesting book. I thought it might be a short read, but with this book it makes you think. So it took me a bit longer to read. Some of it was slow, but it picked up towards the middle and end. I still want to read more on Virginia Woolf to see what her fiction is like to read.
