I knew I would love this book. I love everything it stands for and I loved the movie when I saw it a long time ago. Somehow though, it still exceeded my expectations. This took me to a much simpler life and having the story told through a child's eye was even more pure. I loved it. Atticus Finch is one of the greatest characters of all time, I absolutely loved him - as I knew I would 💕 This book is still relevant today as it was then. Timeless. ...more

To Kill A Mockingbird was my book club book for this month. I had never read it before and I see now why it is such a classic. It was a great read. It is simple and easy to follow, but written in such a way that it entertained me from the first word until the last. Just a really great story.

I was surprised that the story was not as much about black vs white as I had thought going into it. Before reading it I had heard of it of course,

I first read this book to help my son with a summer reading project. I ended up liking it a lot. The story takes place in the 1930s in Alabama. However, to me, it seemed a lot like the Alabama town I always visited as a child (not the overt racism....well...maybe a lot of that, too). The characters are so unique and stay with you even after the book is over. I think the message of the book stills rings true today. Although I wouldn't call it one of my favorites, I will definitely read it again. ...more
