Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein when she was 19 years old. Of course I brought to the table my preconceived notions of the story from the Hollywood horror movies that I very quickly tossed aside. The novella is completely brilliant. It is told in a series of narratives. I found the Monster's narrative to be most fascinating and impossible to put down. The storyline of this was very surprising! From all the pop culture references to the story, I thought that it was going to be completely different. I also found it quite absorbing. A great read, especially lovely that you can pick it up for free and pop it on your e-reader and then enjoy the whole thing instantly. Magic!
