Brilliant sci-fi epic is definitely a good way to describe Dune.
I’ve watched the original movie and the new one, but it took me this long to read this classic.
I went between reading and listening the audiobook version and both have been marvelous.
The world building, the lore, the religious and philosophical questions, as well as now very current questions of population and ecology and ecosystem of our planet is so brilliantly meshed with each other.

My rating is actually a 3.5 stars, but wasn't sure I I should round it up or down. The world building, scope and grandeur is truly epic, but the political machinations were as bit too complicated and I felt my eyes glaze over in my vain attempts to untangle it all. There were several gems and wonderful insights into humankind and its drives and desires. I'm glad a finally read it, though I'm unsure how interested I am in seeing the upcoming movie.
