I really enjoyed reading "Frankenstein" despite some of the long-winded and excessive descriptions of the scenery. Although Shelley denied writing the text as anything more than part of a competition to see who could write the best "horror story", it can't be denied that she was way ahead of her time. It's like Shelley could see into the future and predict that the power of science - or rather, the recklessness of man who could harness the power of science - had vast capability to cause danger. ...more
