Oh wow. This was one thrilling, information-loaded, intense, shocking and somehow emotional book. And I experienced a lot of emotions: anger, eagerness, love, hate, pain, shock, desperation. Crushed hope and infuriation-regard "You are beautiful, Izabel. Your defiance provokes me. Your mouth infuriates me. Your obsession with independence makes me question everything you do. But I love every single thing about you. I know I'm not your first anything, but I hope that I'll be your last everything."
Oh wow. This was one thrilling, information-loaded, intense, shocking and somehow emotional book. And I experienced a lot of emotions: anger, eagerness, love, hate, pain, shock, desperation. Crushed hope and infuriation-regarding one Fredrick Gustavsson.

"You need love to survive, Fredrick, you're this dark, frightening man who is so cold on the outside that hell would freeze over if you were ever sent there... but on the inside, you're a broken man who needs love more than anyone because of the life you were forced to live, because of the horrific things you were forced to endure. You need love more than anything because it's the one thing you've been deprived. You shove me away because I meant something to you, because out of all of us here, you though of me as family. You shut me out because of how many times love destroyed you."
The quote above explains my crushed hope and infuriation towards Fredrick.
I am still unsure of how I feel towards Nora, but she is one hell of a confident woman who knows her strength and she isn't afraid of using it, and I really appreciate that quality in her. I was surprised when it came to Dorian's confession, surprised and hurt from Niklas's confession (which made me look at him in a completely different way than my initiate judgment towards his character), pained by Izabel's confession, and utterly shocked by Victor's.
I have a feeling that all those secrets are just the shore of a very deep pit. Every book in this series makes me love it more, and with every book I grow more intrigued about the characters, their secrets and their past. At this point, I am starting to form some assumptions and I am building theories. I am so eager to read more about this intriguing, mysterious, dark, painful, and utterly amazing story that J. A. Redmerski constructed. ...more

This is definitely a 6 star for me. Goodreads is petty for not allowing it.

The third book The Swan and The Jackal, will still forever be my favorite in the series but this definitely comes close second. I'm still deciding if this one trumps my love for Reviving Izabel. But besides that this book was thrilling because of all the secrets that had to be confessed! I knew Victors secret from the jump but I have no clue how. I can just understand Victor. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT AFTER EVERYTHING THAT MAD WOMAN PUT THEM THROUGH, SHE GET REWARDED IN THE END. IMAGINE IF SHE WAS CAPABLE TO PLAY WITH THEIR HEADS NOT BEING PART OF THE TEAM, I DON'T WANT TO THINK OF WHAT SHE'LL DO NEXT. I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISE IF SHE END UP SLEEPING WITH VICTOR OR FOR VICTOR TO REPLACE IZABEL WITH THAT CRAZY WOMAN.
