Book 16: A Book that Passes the Bechdel Test
I went into this expecting something quirky and charming a la “The Rosie Project”. I did NOT expect something so deep and thought- provoking. What a heartwarming book! I loved Eleanor and especially loved Raymond. Too many times, people are overlooked as odd or awkward, but Raymond extends kindness and friendship helping Eleanor see what true love and community can look like. I enjoyed the plot twist and appreciate the conversations this book will bring about on topics like grief, trauma, loneliness, mental health, friendship and hope.
