I don't even know how to feel right now. On one hand I feel like this was such a well written book. The author drew emotions from me I haven't felt from a book in a very long time, if ever. I'm talking literal palm sweating, stomach cramping, that feeling where your whole body starts to get cold and hot at the same time and getting clammy, and of course, the tears. Whether or not I liked the actual words I was reading, I can honestly say, all the above is what makes an author great! I can probab I don't even know how to feel right now. Whether or not I liked the actual words I was reading, I can honestly say, all the above is what makes an author great! I can probably count on one hand how many times that has happened to me before. And don't get me wrong, I love to read and I have loved a lot of books, but there have been very few to illicit such an emotional response from me. I was so incredibly close to marking this as DNF, which for those that know me, know that is a VERY rare occurrence, but every time I got to that point I would look at my kindle and will myself with all my might to turn it off or get up and walk away but the next thing I knew I had read another chapter. I really don't even know where the time went while I read this! It literally flew by without my even realizing it! I buddy read this with a friend who had already read it and the whole time I kept harassing her about forcing me to read this when in reality the book forced itself on me. I hated Deuce. There I said it. Before stones start getting thrown, I also loved him. He was a bigger asshole than Horse. (And he was the d-bag to end all d-bags) And I absofuckinglutely hated all the crap he put Eva through. Not that she was innocent in all this but still. I was so hurt at his constant betrayals and idiocy that I really almost threw my beloved kindle on more than one occasion! This again just goes to show how awesome this author is. I have so many mixed feelings I really don't even know how to sort them. This book may have ruined all other MC books for me. I have read quite a few but this one was so much more raw and.... the word that comes to mind is uncensored. Like it was more real. If that's how MC's are in real life, I don't wanna know. The illusion has been shattered. *sniff* Intense. Heart breaking. Emotional roller coaster.

As far as my rating goes... I give the author 5 huge awesome writing skills stars. She did a great job in portraying this fucked up story between two fucked up individuals. The story itself is maybe 3 stars for me. As hard as I tried, I couldn't forgive some of the things Deuce did. I get that he loved her and he was just stupid and didn't understand how what he was doing hurt her, but I guess I'm just a grudge-holding-bitter type of woman and couldn't let it go. I loved the ending and how everyone(thing) seemed to end on a happy note. I don't know... Maybe it will all look different to me tomorrow. [image error] One thing I will say is that I am glad I finally read this and got to see what all the fuss was about. However, after that complete and utter emotionally draining experience, I don't think I'll be able to read the rest of the series. I guess I'm also a hearts-and-flowers type of romance girl too! Shelves: adult, pissed-me-off, audiobook, annoying-women, dark, complete-psycho, tortured, depressing, wtf, abuse

So, this was definitely one of the most depressing books that I've ever read. Nothing really seemed to work out for Eva and Deuce until like the very end. Books are an escape for me so with a book like this it was just too much. Like way worse than real life which made me get little enjoyment out of it. Sighs... If I do read another, it will probably be not until next year. ...more

Ok.. I read this and I really had way high hopes there.. especially that I LOVE the biker-theme stories.. and I'm glad that the author had put a warning about what's up ahead... but still all that didn't give me enough heads up for what I actually read. I'm so sad and so disappointed :(

Not counting the typos, grammar and punctuation errors... (and really I wouldn't have minded those if this were a case of a good story with bad editing - which unfortunately, this wasn't. At least for me)..

I have never read a story written quite like this one. It spans 20 years of 2 people. And it is not a fluffy, happy, cutie romance. It is raw, overwhelming, dark, passionate, hurtful, dangerous, and...it is epic. There are parts that will make you want to look away and cringe.
